1. What is carbon footprint?
Carbon dioxide and other pollutants are included in the green house gas emissions we produce in our daily activities - this is what we call carbon footprint. Extreme climate conditions and carbon footprints can cause a massive decrease in air quality and this will negatively impacts our lives.
2. What is a carbon offset?
An effort to absorb the carbon footprint produced is called carbon offset, in order to reduce its adverse effects on climate. Ways to absorb the carbon footprint is by planting new trees or adopting them, offsetting carbon or buy carbon credits.
3. How can trees help absorb carbon footprints?
You can access our tree and carbon offset marketplace and explore programs you can take part in! Ranging from tree adoption to purchasing carbon units, we bet you’ll have afun exploring to save the earth! Moreover, you can as well calculate your carbon footprint on our platform!
4. How do I absorb the carbon footprint that I produce?
You can access our tree and carbon offset marketplace and explore programs you can take part in! Ranging from tree adoption to purchasing carbon units, we bet you’ll have afun exploring to save the earth! Moreover, you can as well calculate your carbon footprint on our platform!
5. Who will plant my tree?
Trees will be planted by our conservation partners that we have successfully engage with. Plantation will be carried out in a mutually agreed conservation area.
6. Can I calculate my footprint?
Yes, indeed! You can access the carbon calculator provided on the platform. Here, you can even calculate your daily ride emission and offset it through the Jejakin app!
7. What do you use to monitor the trees?
Drones, ai technology, sensors and other technologies will be used to help monitor the trees, which are then processed with our machine learning to provide you with the data report.
8. How many plant species Jejak.in have?
We have more than 15,000 species registered in our list.
9. Will the trees that I plant be maintained?
The Trees will be maintained conservation partner and can be monitored with Jejakin’s system. The tree monitoring will be conducted periodically (based on mutual agreement), by using a monitoring system from Jejakin. The system will report the trees’ growth and health, and can be accessed at any time via the link mentioned in the email you will receive once your trees have been planted.
10. Is there a way to monitor the trees after they’ve been planted?
Indeed! adult full grown trees can still be monitored by us. Monitoring & evaluation dashboard provided by Jejakin can be accessed any time and here, you can see the tree’s health status up to their height and trunk diameter! Photos of the trees will also be provided in the report.
11. How do forests absorb carbon?
Carbon supplies that have absorbed by forests are accumulated into three main components;
⦁ Biomass (the living organisms) such as trees
⦁ Necromass (dead plant parts) like tree trunks that are still upright or have fallen on the surface of the land
⦁ Organic (soil)
These can be a source of carbon stock for the earth.
12. What method is used to calculate our carbon footprint?
The method for calculating carbon emissions has been adjusted to the calculation formula according to scientific recommendations from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia and various references from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
The parameters required in this method include:
⦁ Mileage
⦁ Fuel consumption
⦁ Emission factor
