In line with the Maybank Marathon 2023, Maybank Indonesia envisions placing mangroves at the forefront, recognizing their potential beyond coastal erosion protection.

Their dedication to upholding good ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices and promoting sustainable finance exemplifies their mission to create a sustainable future for all. This commitment is conspicuously demonstrated through their recent initiative to plant 2,000 mangrove saplings in the Mangrove Arboretum Park, Tanjung Benoa, Bali. Over the next three years, these mangroves will grow and be monitored by Jejakin’s system, ensuring that they can effectively bolster coastal ecosystems and generate long-term positive impacts, in alignment with Maybank's goal of improving the quality of life.

Coinciding with the Maybank Marathon Bali 2023, Maybank Indonesia, through the Maybank Indonesia Foundation, launched the Mangrove-Planting Donation Program. This initiative empowers Maybank Marathon participants to actively contribute to carbon-emission reduction, exemplifying the synergy between the bank’s values and the event’s essence.

Additionally, this tree-planting event was complemented by discussions about the importance of mangroves, engaging elementary students in Bali.
